My relationship with the landscape began long before I found my way to fine art photography. Travel, people, streets — the early years were restless, searching. It was the mountains and forests that eventually made me stop.
Over three decades, I've returned again and again to a small number of places — Scotland's northern coastlines, the high meadows of the Dolomites, quiet river valleys in the Alps, the weathered Atlantic shores. Not because they are spectacular, but because they are honest. They ask you to be patient.
I work with medium format Fujifilm GFX cameras, chosen for the detail and tonal range they offer — qualities that matter most when a print is handled, framed, and lives on a wall for years.
As well as making work, I've spent years teaching — in workshops across Europe and through one-to-one tuition. My approach there is the same as in my own practice: slow down, look more carefully.
A published photo book and an ambassadorship with ExcireFoto have been meaningful milestones — but the work itself remains the point. I'm still learning. I expect I always will be.
